THE WHAT?
This is a great washing up brush to replace your usual plastic brush or scourer with something that is natural, plastic-free and far more aesthetically pleasing than what you currently have today. The coconuts coir has natural anti-bacterial properties and works well with stubborn stains like coffee or tea residue. Best of all it is safe to use on your non-stick pots and pans.
The ergonomic handle of this brush is made from rubber wood from a Forestry Stewardship Council certified source. Even better than that, it is “recycled” new wood from trees that have reached the end of their rubber production days and are being cut down anyway. The brush section is coconut coir, which is sustainably farmed in Sri Lanka. The brush is secured to the easy to grip handle by stainless steel wire, which can be recycled.
THE WHY?
Washing up is an area with a lot of manmade fibres.
This durable cleaning brush is especially designed with a good handle grip for getting into hard to reach places. Being non-scratch, it is great for non-stick pots and pans and safe on plates, dishes, glasses and stubborn tea stains on mugs.
Made ethically in Sri Lanka from sustainably farmed coconut fibre (or coir as it is more commonly known) wrapped around a stainless steel wire and FSC accredited timber. Coir is a natural fibre extracted from between the hard internal shell of the coconut and the outer coat of the coconut. As well as being totally natural, the bristles on this brush are also naturally antibacterial, free from toxic chemicals, recyclable and biodegradable.
Plastic free and presented in card box detailing the eco credentials of the product.
Brush measures approximately 25cm long.
Rinse after each use and store in a dry place. On the first few uses you may notice some loose fibres or ‘dust’ but this will reduce over time.
NATURAL
Common cleaning products often use harsh chemicals to maintain antibacterial properties. The coconut fibre used in this product is naturally antibacterial and free from toxic chemicals. It is also recyclable and biodegradable.
SUSTAINABLE
EcoCoconut use sustainably farmed coconut fibre to make this product. Coconut fibre, or coir as it is more commonly known, is a natural fibre extracted from between the hard internal shell of the coconut and the outer coat of the coconut. It is a byproduct of the coconut harvesting process, and is considered a renewable and sustainable product since new crops of coconuts can be regrown repeatedly on the same trees.
They also use wood from 'recycled' FSC certified rubber trees. These are trees which are grown in a plantation and at the end of their life, replanted and used to make the handles.
