These fantastic cloth sanitary pads from Earthwise Girls offer a convenient alternative to disposable pads. Available in packs of 3, in three different sizes/ absorbancies,
3 x small, 3 x medium or 3 x long
THE WHAT?
These fabulous pads from Earthwise Girls are made from easy care fabrics that are simple to wash and dry, and resistant to stains. The top layer of microfleece gives a stay dry feel to the pad, while moisture is locked away in the microfiber core. The pads are backed with leak-proof PUL, and have a choice of 2 popper settings on the wings to suit your needs, which also help to prevent slippage.
Machine wash at up to 40 degrees, and air dry
SMALL pads are suitable for light flow, spotting or as cup/sponge back up, approx. 17.5cm long. They’re also perfect for teens.
MEDIUM pads are suitable for average flow, approx. 19.5cm long and can also be used as back up when using a menstrual cup.
LONG pads are suitable for average to heavy flow, approx 27cm long
Each 3 pack contains 2 dolphin design and 1 aqua.
If you’re not sure which ones to go for, why not try our starter bundle which includes one of each size and a wet bag to store your used pads in until they are ready for the wash. The wet bag is also available separately.
THE WHY?
Conventional pads are made of up to 90% plastic. Most tampons also contain plastic in them, even in the string.
Figures from the Marine Conservation Society reveal that on average, 4.8 pieces of menstrual waste are found per 100 metres of beach cleaned. Not only is that bad for the environment, it’s hardly the idyllic backdrop for your day trip to the beach.
One way to help stop this is to make the switch to reusable menstrual products like these cloth pads or a menstrual cup such as the moon cup.
Not only will you be helping the environment but very quickly you will be saving money too, rather than forking out for disposable products each month. It’s estimated you can save over £4000 over a period of 10 years.
