Formula E Racing Driver Alexander Sims to Partner with Non Plastic Beach

Non Plastic Beach has teamed up with ABB FIA Formula E Racing Driver, Alexander Sims to help the sustainability minded racer reduce his disposable plastic use. The Oxfordshire-based online retailer and wholesaler of lower impact bathroom and kitchen products will provide Mahindra Racing driver Sims with products that avoid single-use plastic in his day-to-day life and on his travels

Sims has been involved in sustainability efforts for many years and currently races in the world’s premier electric racing championship, Formula E and last month set an electric road car world record for the shortest charging duration on the John O’ Groats to Lands End trip.

Alexander’s commitment to sustainability was why Non Plastic Beach were happy to partner with him, as Co-Founder, Gareth Dean explains: “I have known of Alexander for many years due to working in motorsport many years ago and I had noticed that he had a genuine interest in sustainability and electric vehicles long before it was fashionable. It is one thing for a driver in an all-electric racing championship to drive the sponsor’s chosen EV and say the right things, but he really believes in zero emissions mobility and has been using an electric car for years and is the trustee of the Zero Carbon World EV charging point charity.

Dean continued: “To work with someone who really believes in reducing their impact and in an arena where it hasn’t been the easy choice is really exciting for us, and we are looking forward to supplying our plastic reducing products to Alexander and his family.”

Talking about the partnership with Non Plastic Beach, Sims commented: "For some time now, I’ve been trying to make everyday choices and incorporate habits that make my lifestyle more sustainable, including paying close attention to what I use when I’m away racing.

It’s fantastic to be able to partner with Non Plastic Beach and to experience its range of plastic free products.  Hopefully together we can highlight how they can be equally effective and affordable as conventional items, but crucially more sustainable.”

Alexander will be racing for Mahindra in the 2021 Formula E season, which is scheduled to start again in January 2021 in Santiago, Chile with 12 rounds currently planned all over the world, including London on the 24th-25th July. Further information on Non Plastic Beach can be found at
