Nobody needs to explain that this year has been a bit odd for many aspects of life, but as an online business, COVID-19 has had a big impact on postal deliveries. We have had customers receiving parcels after two or three weeks, instead of the normal 48 hours on Royal Mail services, due to these issues.
Information we have from our own customers, but also deliveries to us personally suggests that this situation is continuing, with illness, social distancing and massive increase in online sales meaning that Royal Mail is struggling at times to fulfil deliveries daily in some places.
To combat this we are recommending that after orders placed from today (15th December) onwards are at minimum using Royal Mail 24 (1st Class) at £3.95 as we cannot guarantee that Royal Mail 48 (2nd Class) at £2.95 will get there in time. If the parcel is time critical then we are offering the next day delivery service at £7, which will be using the DPD Next Day (carbon neutral) service.
If a UK order is over £35 it defaults to free 2nd Class delivery at checkout, if you need it urgently then DPD delivery is available for £7 if you manually change it at checkout.
